Configure the package

Your package on the right updates as you go.

  1. Size from height & weight

We recommend Standard or Bariatric/wide from patient height and weight — not a diagnosis.

Enter weight to see Standard vs Bariatric recommendation.

  2. Getting out of bed

If the patient needs help transferring, Full-Electric (powered height) is usually safer than Semi-Electric.

  3. Rails

Fall risk or positioning help? Half-length is typical at home; full-length is higher acuity.

  4. Mattress

If the patient cannot roll or reposition — or has wounds or meds that impair movement — choose pressure-reducing.

  5. Trapeze bar

Optional: helps patients who can use upper-body strength to lift and shift themselves.

What each choice means

  • Semi vs Full-Electric

Full-Electric powers height for safer transfers when the patient needs help getting out of bed. Semi-Electric typically powers head and foot only.

  • Half vs full-length rails

Half-length rails help with positioning and are common at home. Full-length rails are for higher fall or roll-off risk — confirm with your care team.

  • Standard vs pressure-reducing

If the patient cannot reposition well, or has wounds or meds that impair movement, a pressure-reducing mattress is usually the safer path.

  • What a trapeze is for

A trapeze bar helps the patient lift and shift themselves in bed when they have enough upper-body strength to use it safely.

Before you order

Do I need a prescription for a hospital bed?

Many insurers and clinical pathways require a physician order for a hospital bed. We'll help you understand what's needed for your situation — call (800) 977-3002 if you're unsure.

What is included in a bed package?

A package typically includes the bed frame (Semi- or Full-Electric where offered), a mattress, and optional rails or trapeze. You choose each piece in the builder; available items can be added to cart together.

How is it delivered?

We hand-deliver hospital beds in our Southern California service area and set them up so you know how to use the controls safely. Remote areas may take longer — call for timing.

Semi-Electric or Full-Electric?

If the patient needs help transferring to a chair or standing, Full-Electric (powered height) is usually the better path. Semi-Electric typically powers head and foot only.
