Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. All oxygen requires a prescription. We work directly with your doctor to get your current prescription and make sure the equipment is capable of meeting its requirements.
Is this unit FAA-approved for air travel?
Yes — this model is FAA-approved for air travel. Airlines generally require enough battery life for 1.5× your total air travel time. For example, a four-hour flight typically means you need six hours of battery with you. Confirm your carrier’s requirements, and contact our customer support team for help planning air travel.
What if I need help choosing a setting or battery?
Your doctor’s prescription determines your setting and should not be changed without their oversight. If you will be traveling, tell your doctor and ask whether any flow-setting changes are appropriate in the air due to cabin pressure. If you need help selecting batteries or other accessories, our team can walk you through the equipment and travel planning.
What if my equipment has a problem overnight?
Call (800) 977-3002. Purchase questions are handled during business hours; urgent equipment issues are covered by overnight on-call staff.
Is this covered by Medicare or private insurance?
Insurance and Medicare both cover oxygen therapy when it is medically necessary. Coverage varies by carrier and can depend on how long you have been on oxygen. Every plan and every person’s circumstances differ. Our team is happy to verify your coverage and walk through the details with you.
Can I pay with an FSA or HSA card?
Yes. This is prescribed medical equipment, and you can use FSA/HSA benefits to cover it.
How is it delivered, and how long does it take?
We generally keep website items in stock for same- or next-day delivery. These are prescription devices, so having your oxygen prescription ready greatly speeds up the process. We’re happy to contact your doctor for your oxygen orders if needed, though that may add to delivery time.
We hand-deliver every portable oxygen concentrator and teach you how to use it.
Do you deliver and set up in my area?
We deliver throughout Southern California, usually same- or next-day. Some remote areas may take longer. Contact us for details about your location.
How long do the batteries last, and what does a replacement cost?
Battery life varies with use, but batteries generally last about 500 cycles (roughly 2–3 years) with typical care. Replacement costs vary by device and are listed in our store by device and brand.
How do I clean and maintain the unit?
Care instructions are provided with your unit at delivery. In general, wipe it down with a damp cloth and change the filter about every two months.
What happens if my prescription changes after I buy?
If your prescription changes, contact us as soon as possible. If we guided you through the selection process, your equipment will often still meet the new prescription. If it no longer supports your oxygen needs, our trade-up program can help you move to a device that does.
What happens if the unit needs repair — do I get a loaner?
If your unit needs repairs we cannot complete at your home, you still have options. During the warranty period (manufacturer or lifetime, whichever you chose), we leave a comparable loaner until yours is returned. Outside the warranty period, we provide pricing options suited to your budget and needs.
